Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup butter or margarine

1 3/4 cups sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

2 eggs

1 1/4 cups milk

Directions:

1) Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, and set aside

2) In large bowl beat Margarine or butter

3) Add sugar and vanilla beat till well combined

4) Add eggs one at a time and beat in first before adding the second

5) Alternate adding milk and dry mixture to beaten bowl

6) Grease and lightly flour two 8 x 1 ½ - inch or one 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan

7) Bake at 375 for 30 to 35 or until knife stuck in center comes out clean

8) Remove and let cool for 1 hour
