Cook Time: 1 Hour 15 Minutes
Makes: 6 Servings
Notes:

Ingredients:

Meatloaf:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound bulk sausage
1 cup fine bread crumbs
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 egg, beaten
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper, to taste
Sauce:
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup dry red wine or beef stock
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions:

1) For Meat Loaf: Combine meats, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic, parsley and egg in large bowl. Mix well. Mix milk and water and add to meat mixture a little at a time until smooth but firm. Shape into loaf and put into greased baking pan. Bake 30 minutes at 375°.
2) For Sauce: Add all ingredients to a pot and slowly bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. After loaf has cooked for 30 minutes, pour half of the sauce over the meat, return to oven and bake 45 minutes more, basting often with remaining sauce.
